Safe Lighting

A safe lighting project is a sustainable development project where its impact remains for a long period of time up to a year and also saves children's lives from fires caused by the use of traditional lighting methods such as candles; the idea came from the persistence of a power outage crisis for years for the Gaza Strip's inhabitants owing to the unavailability of power sources and having only one old, worn-out power plant in the Gaza Strip of, as well as the Gaza Strip's reliance on electricity coming from Israel and Egypt.

Gazans' need for electricity is 560 MW, What is available to the sector is 120 MW from the Israeli side, 70 MW of power plant, 23 MW of Egyptian side, The sector's deficit is therefore 347 MW, which is approximately 62%. Meaning electricity per day comes in 24 hours only 7 hours at best,

This crisis required serious and responsible action by charitable and humanitarian associations in the Gaza Strip, including Rowad to stand with the poor, to illuminate the darkness of their homes, especially in winter, and to provide lighting for students to study towards the end of the first semester.

The project is to provide safe lighting units for poor families. In the Gaza Strip, 350 poor families and orphans' families benefited from the project; The unit has  an eight excellent quality lids 4 eyes , 8A battery, charger and 8 pistons, wax and the 25 m wire, which contributes to providing light to dark houses and alleviating the suffering of poor people who cannot afford to buy them.
