Rowad distributes the second installment of Qard Hasan checks (benevolent loans) on women in Gaza

As a part of Qard Hasan Project or Benevolent Loans Fund (BLF), Rowad Association for Community Development distributes the second installment of checks on the women bread winners. This project is sponsored by the associations of Viva Palestina –Malaysia and the Malaysian Global Peace. The event took place during the distribution ceremony I the association’s main office in Gaza, and it was attended by Mr. Raed As-Saati, the treasury person, Mr. Hani Thuraya, the representative of Viva Palestina- Malaysia association and Mr. Mohammed Abu Sido, the director of the association.

 

In the ceremony, six femal owner of small enterprises received benevolent loans’ checks where the minimum amount is 1500 USD. . This comes after a series of procedures which are: checking the conformity of the projects to the association’s announced criteria, then interviewing the owner of the project, and after that visiting the project in order to evaluate its validity and feasibility.

 

For his part, Mr. Abu Sido confirmed that this project matches with the association’s policy which aims at enforcing the community development in the Palestinian society and empowering the widows and women breadwinners via supporting them and providing them a source of income that could help them in overcoming the obstacles of life especially in light of the harsh economic condition that Gaza Strip suffers now a days and after the last aggression on Gaza in 2014 A.D.

 

The proposed projects include grocery, sewing, photocopying and raising poultry, rabbits and goats.

  

It is worth mentioning that two weeks ago, the association distributed the first installment of BL checkson seven small enterprises.
