Rowad holds a workshop about developing Infrastructure in northwest Gaza

Rowad Association for Community Development held a workshop entitled "Examining Municipality Performance in Al Karama and Ebad Elrahman Areas". The workshop was attended by Dr. Mohammed El Fara, minister of Local Governance, Mr. Esam Joda, head of Jabalia municipality, Mr. Rabah Bekhet, head of the association, association's board of directors, members of Jabalia municipality and a number of experts, engineers and chieftains.

 

The workshop comes within events of an initiation for community development launched one year ago, and it aims at developing one km² in Amer project and Ebad Elrahman areas to be as a good model to follow in terms of improvement of lights, cleanliness, planting trees, water and sanitation.

 

On behalf of the area and its inhabitants, Dr. Nasem Yassen talked in the beginning about the role of Jabalia municipality and its message of development and communicating with the local society. He also requested more developmental projects for the area.

From his side, Mr. Bekhet discussed the duties of the municipality in improving cleanliness, sanitation; lights, road and infrastructure, and he appreciated that role in serving the citizen especially that the municipality's slogan is "Better service for better life". Finally, he requested the municipality for more projects of the inhabitants of the area.

Mr. Ahmed El Hajjar, member of Jabalia municipality, talked about the role that they play in developing services, particularly water, sanitation, cleanliness and infrastructure. The participants in the workshop asked for forming a neighborhood committee that works on determining clear policies and tackles the needs of the people in that areas in association with the municipality.

In the end, the minister thanked the association for hosting the workshop and other workshops that work to promote the developmental levels of different areas. He also hoped that the outcomes of the workshops could be achieved to activate the work at initiation committees that aim at conducting comprehensive surveys about area's needs.
