Rowad host the American civil rights activist Denny Cormier
Rowad Association for Community Development hosted yesterday the American human rights activist and writer, Denny Cormier in the association's headquarters. This comes as a part of a series of lectures and training courses carried out by the association under Rowad summer camps launched by the association last Thursday for a lecture where 25 young males participated in.
This lecture comes as part of the meetings and practical activities related to English language training that aims to refine the capacity of young people in speaking and listening skills. In his lecture, Mr. Cormier talked to the trainees about his academic and professional experience as a blogger as well as his work in the field of human rights in the US. During his speech, he tackled the tragic and painful situation in Gaza, saying the unbearable situation in Gaza is full of difficulties and hardships, nevertheless, we find in the hearts of people perseverance and challenge to realize their legitimate rights. Cormier added “I am very proud of the spirit and high morale of the young people and their outstanding performance despite the obstacles, repeated closures of crossings and the suffocating siege”.
For his part, Mr. Mohammed Abu Sido, the executive manager of Rowad, welcomed Mr. Cormier, and stressed on the importance of this lecture where the young people meet experienced people Cormier. He said that this lecture aims to improve the quality of young people to master the English language conversation skills. Abu Sido went on saying that the association is going to continue implementing such courses in order to develop the coming generation comprehensively and qualifies them to move forward in the midst of life, despite its difficulties, and be productive and active in the community and be able to change, influence, step forward and build the future.
At the end of the lecture, the young participants expressed their admiration to this outstanding meeting, and made full thanks and appreciation to the administration of the association for holding such valuable and useful meetings.
