Rowad inspects the living conditions of poor family during the month of Ramadan in Gaza
As a part of its project “one body” launched Rowad Association of community development during the holy month of Ramadan, a team of the association pays numerous visits to the homes of poor families and had Iftar with them and examines closely their suffering and pain.
The project aimed to consolidate and strengthen the principle of solidarity and compassion social between all sectors of the Palestinian society and cover the needs of the impoverished families in Gaza Strip. The project’s name “one body” was derived from a prophetic tradition by the Prophet peace be upon him, saying: “Believers in their affection, mercy and pettiness are like the body. Once an organ falls sick, all the other organs are affected and have insomnia and fever”."
One of these visitswas to the house of the disabled Abdullah El Aydi in project Amer area where the team was warmly welcomed by this family and then started arranging the meal with the help of the sons of the head of family. Al Haj Abdullah, a father of five children and their mother, suffers fromquadriplegia. His wife told us about their suffering she said that the miniscule cash assistance that they get from the ministry of social affairs hardly covers their needs for a half of the month. In addition, her house is small and the kids require many needs while their father is disabled and cannot work. Despite her suffering, she went on by saying :Some people are better than us but we are better than many others too,, Alhamdullilah” Her words reveals patience and challenge that Palestinian mothers have despite all the difficulties and strictures.
After finishing Iftar, the team talked with the family and asked them to list their needs and necessities so that they can communicate with philanthropists and benefactors about them in order to support the steadfastness and patience. We bid farewell to the family and their lovely kids who the family thanked the association for looking after them.
