Rowad Association for Social Development has launched its social solidarity campaign for the area of north-east Gaza. This initiative is a try to strengthen the fabric of the society by collecting the riches do not need and grant them for the needy people in the holy month of Ramadan. Mohammed Khalil, the coordinator of this campaign, stated that campaign is going to last for a whole week; it is going to be from Althuhr Prayer “noon” till Almaghreb prayer “evening” of each day. The donations include cash and in kind assistance like: furniture, clothes, etc. Mr. Khalil said that this campaign aims at fortifying the solidarity spirit within the Palestinian society to be like what the prophet Mohammed said: “Believers in their affection, mercy and pettiness are like the body. Once an organ falls sick, all the other organs are affected and have insomnia and fever”. Also, the campaign aims at enhancing the idea of ​​volunteer work among the young participants in the campaign and helping some needy families in the area at the same time. Mr. Abu Sido went on by saying that the campaign slogan is “Draw a smile and make a footprint” and pointed to the importance of social solidarity, especially in the month of Ramadan, the month of goodness and solidarity where good deeds are doubled. He also called on all generous and kind hearted people to donate for the benefit of poor families and reminded them of another hadith of Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him: “He who would have extra food shall give it to the one who has none."

Mr. Abu Sido concluded by thanking the benevolent people of the region who supported the campaign and highlighting on the importance of such initiatives in covering the needs of the poor and creating a solid society.
